Congrats, if somebody actually asks why you are not leaving any vacation time for your wedding just tell them that you both discussed it and want to take a vacation during Mardi Gras and then there will be a honeymoon a few months after you get married, or don't even tell them there is a date set. Of course if you already told everybody at work that you have a website with wedding plans then it may be difficult.

Sounds like a nice proposal.
I had to plan our honeymoon to Antarctica a year in advance, you could always use an excuse like that. A lot of people go back to work right after getting married.

God, that's the truth. Sometimes I forget how long I've been on here, and I see people changing, myself changing, and it's just crazy. I've gone from totally clueless to just getting engaged last year and getting married myself this past October.
And yes, obviously, congrats CK!!!

I know a two week notice is standard, and I plan on giving them more than that... but if I tell them now that I plan on leaving in the summer... what's to stop them from replacing me now and leaving me jobless?
How do I handle letting them know? Do I put all my PTO requests for other dates and let them put the pieces together? Do I pull my supervisor aside and tell him straight up my plans? Do I assign my PTO for my wedding and just take it as an extra paycheck later?
What would you do?

Only you know the situation at your work. Only you know if your supervisor will work with you on the PTO and your plan in regards to leaving the company. Good luck and congrats!

I would just tell them that the only thing the two of you REALLY want to do for your H'moon is go to Mardi Gras, so you are going to take your H'moon early.

I went through this recently. Sorta. As soon as I was engaged, I let my boss know I would be leaving in a year. As time got closer I gave them my "two week notice" 3 months in advance so they would have time to train someone else if they wanted. In MY situation, I knew they would not fire me early. They needed me there as much as possible. I was able to put in for a few days off BEFORE I officially gave my notice. Once I officially put in my notice, I would not be allowed to put in for time off.

She's a very cute girl (and has a killer smile), the two of you make a very nice looking couple. And I like the wedding update site, nice idea!

How long have you worked for the people you work for? How well do you think you know them?
Well enough to invite them to the wedding? If not, why?
Just my 2¢.
P.S. Congratulations!

I've been there for over two years... I know everyone pretty well though I'd like to invite a few people, but unless everyone could come or could be invited, I wouldn't be comfortable inviting any of them.

People who are nuts often don't think...they are nuts.
In any case, who cares. Congrats.
