Drinking alcohol and making babies

Wife is getting on me about the effect of drinking and how it will lower the count. Even to the point where i shouldn't drink for three months before we start trying. I drink 1-2 during the week, and maybe 6-8 on weekends. What do you think? Should she be worried with my drinking?

I'm straight and don't want/have kids, mostly because I don't want to share my toys.

Why start worrying about having problems until you do have problems? Start trying, if it isn't happening, then cut back on the drinking and some of the other usual culprits (smoking, etc, etc) and go from there.

Oh yea...tell her to quit reading the baby message boards on the net.

Re: Drinking alcohol and making babies

Are you going to try the "None of the other Husbands had to stop drinking" argument? I don't think that will work.

Going by all the alcoholic losers with 10 kids that live around me I'd have to say it must increase sperm production.

Meh. Beats getting cuffed and arrested for kissing your partner on the cheek. Actually happened her in Salt Lake City two weeks ago.

Have her fill out the WebMD ovulation chart and follow the advice given there. I think it's something like have the father ejaculate 2 days prior to prime conception time, and let the boys recharge with fresh bodies.

If you must stop drinking until the positive comes back, at least make an arrangement that you can be drunk for the following 9 months straight and she can't say shit.

Tell her you need to get drunk in order to sleep with her. Report back here with the results.

Re: Drinking alcohol and making babies

It doesn't matter if she should be worried about your drinking. She is.

You are honestly trying to get us to justify female behavior?

Just cut back to 1 a day. It would be healthier for you any way. If you are so inclined, you can always make up for it after she's pregnant

Save the drinking for the day the baby is born. Trust me, you'll need it.

If I've learned anything from wacky Seth Rogen/Katherine Heigl comedies, it's that alcohol use will not interfere with the ability to get pregnant.

Re: Drinking alcohol and making babies

Usually I have to give women alcohol before they'll let me try and make a baby

I'm no doctor, but I shouldn't think that amount of drinking a week would affect your count. Could be she's just trying to get you to quit period, but in a roundabout way.

You could just hide flasks around the house. That's what I do except swap 'house' for 'work'.

Or he could be a man about it and tell his wife to shove it up her ass. She's got a problem with it I'm sure her parents wouldn't mind her staying there for a while.

You won't get any babies if you use that method! I mean seriously, you wouldn't even be in the same bed.

He said he drinks 1-2 a week and 6-8 on weekends. He's obviously not an alcoholic. Which would be the only reasonable reason the wife would be requesting he stopped drinking. Sounds like she is just being a bitch and using this as an excuse.
