Do all front load washer/dryer sets open the same way?

I'm looking for a new set. Looked at Costco, etc. But they all seem to open with the washer opening from right to left. The way our laundry room is set up, the doors would open to each other, which would be a pain. It also doesn't appear that these are reversable, which is understandable, given all the wires, etc. not as simple as a fridge.

Anyone know?

Ours open into each other. Yeah, it's a minor pain, but a clothes basket is our friend (use it to transfer the clothes).

I have an LG set and the dryer door is reversible. I think some of the high-end units let you turn the washer door around, too...

I have a mid-range Sears dryer that lets you change which way the door opens.

Can you stack them?

Most FLs are stackable, which would handle the door issue. (We have Whirlpool Duets that are stacked, and it is pretty convenient.) You can also change the hinge side on the Duet dryer.

Turns out the Costco ones are reversable. They don't tell you that, but if you go to the Whirlpool website, it says they are.

I dont' have room to stack. Have cabinets above them.

I have a Frigidaire set that open away from each other. The washer is on the left and dryer is on the right. Washer opens from right to left and dryer opens from left to right.

I need more detail. Do you have a diagram?

Hmmm, I'll have to check and see if our LGs can have the doors changed. Didn't think to check. (Dryer left/Washer right)

The only one that can switch both doors so that they open french door style is Electrolux. This way you can set the washer on the right and the dryer on the left. Other wise the best option is to have them both open the same way and try to go over them.

Can't you just buy longer hoses, vents, and plugs and put them on whatever side you want? I know I've seen 8' dryer vents and plugs.

I don't think the majority of front load washers can have the door reversed due to how the machines are built. I could be wrong though.

Yes, they all open the same way. You pull on the handle with your hand.
