A Lynchian state of fugue

OK, so I decided to head to a local restaurant for a chicken sandwich and I happened to have someone sit next to me that must've been a homeless person in training. Here are various things she told me, or herself, as she was somewhat inaudible:

"A pair of cardinals was doing tricks for me."

"Do you have paper? I need paper?" (to be continued)

"There's ghosts in my attic and they want to steal my hands."

"I don't know, I think it's good energy, but I feel it in my feet sometimes."

"I'm sort of a poet." Then, on the piece of paper, she wrote the following:

Blueberries are my family
I wish you were dead

Then she proceeded to continue underlining "dead"... over and over. This was my cue to get my check and get the hell out. (Conversation was impossible, as all questions were answered by non-sequiturs... Example:
Q. "Where is that IPA from that you're drinking?"
A. "From India. Avery, actually. Like the dinosaur."
)

I can't have a conversation with someone who doesn't pass the Turing test.

As I leave hurriedly, I notice there's a rat in a trashcan. I don't know how it got in, since there's no holes in the trashcan. I don't know if it will ever get out. It just kept running circles inside it. Now the rodents were after me as well.

The final frosting on the cupcake was that on the way home, some random guy in a late-90s Mustang rolled down his tinted window, gave me the stink-eye, then rolled it back up.

As he passed, I read his license plate:
SQUIREL

I hope I'm safe now.
