X-rays question

I had both my hands x-rayed last week at the hospital and received the notes late in the week.It stated about my righthand--carpal alignment was grossly anatomic.I returned to the hospital today for neck x-rays and asked the people there about it and they had no clue.I don't see my specialist for another three months unless I am having more problems.

In Sparta they would have thrown you off a cliff for that.

I just asked my mom, who's an X-ray technologist; She thinks they probably meant that it's grossly normal. In other words, in medical terms, grossly would be the opposite of microscopic, and anatomic refers to the anatomy. So the doctor probably meant that your carpal alignment appears normal. The carpal bones are the eight bones in the wrist. She thought it was strange because she thinks they probably left off a word. She thinks he meant grossly anatomically correct.

found a possibly unhelpful portion of an article:

Grossly, anatomic changes are minimal,
consisting chiefly of slight enlargement of the involved (in this case they were talking about organs)

due to the traffic and ranking of DVDTalk this thread is now #1 and #2 in google returns on a 'grossly anatomic' search......

as a person who fully understands SEO i really dig this... in fact many threads here, on many topics, race to the top of search results...

this is in a matter of mere hours... amazing...

It's the doc's subtle way of saying you wank too much. Switch hands.
