how to mess up someone else's life

It's pretty easy.

Just write his or her name/use his or her name on a bunch of websites. Write outrageous things, get yourself banned from forums, etc etc

so whenever an employer googles (hooray! what a fuckin' quality background check) this person they'll see a bunch of negative things, and he or she won't get the job.

Done.

LONG LIVE THE DIGITAL AGE!

(and no I have not had this happen, but I dread modern information society)

Did you just want to boost your post count without thinking it through?

I think thats why people should think about what they say before they post it...

Just like in real life, you just dont go around spitting all types of garbage without their being some sort of reprecussion.

If you wanna spit hate or nonesence, dont use your real name!

You could also just put on a mask and break both their kneecaps, or inject them with an STD. But might as well also do the google thing, just to be sure.

I know I wouldn't hire Parcher, because a moment's research on teh Intarweb reveals his tight buttocks would be too much of a workplace distraction.

You could just kill their family. It would be a lot less work.

My name is extremely uncommon, but I have a cousin with the same first and last name, and I am glad of that fact.

It is basically a continuation of deltasigchi's thread about not being hired. Parcher posted basically the same post there and then opens a brand new thread with the same message. I don't even see the point of why this thread even needs to exist.

It was more entertaining when all the anger was directed against Facebook specifically.

I'm curious what the OP thinks should be done about this. Should the government step in and close it all up? Should it restrict businesses and organizations from using all the tools available to it in its hiring process? What?

That is weird. I also have a cousin with the same name. I do know that he was delinquent on an American Express card back in the mid 90s. They kept calling my home and refused to believe me.

If I want to mess up a person's life, they can marry me. Of course, that only works with women and/or in Massachusets...

If Someone were to do what op did and the person being attacked finds out hes on all these forums, he could get an investigator or someone that knows computers to trace that person and once found sue that person for slander. Not so funny now is it?
