Did you get a Christmas bonus at work this year?

$200 is what I was given. Not bad, considering the state of things around here. Now I can buy me that iPod!

No, and I won't. Unless you count the extra money I pick up by working overtime on the holidays themselves. That alone almost doubles my income for the week.

I don't think they've ever handed out Christmas bonuses. In March we usually get a previous-year bonus, but no Christmas ones.

Not really a Christmas bonus because I work for a county government.

We do however get our 11 days holiday pay all in the first paycheck in December, up and above our regular 80 hour paycheck. Then to top it all off I had 40 hours OT paid the same pay period due to a big case I'm working on. This was 40% of my OT for the entire year.

Needless to say it felt like a bonus... Just a bit tired with all the OT.

I work at a college. We used to get bonuses, but not anymore. I can't complain, though. I still have a job, it pays well and has good benefits, and I get December 21 through January 2 off as paid holidays.

We don't get bonuses but do get longevity. So, I got a nice check that helped me with some bills this month.

Well, I've been with the same company for 9 years. When I got hired we were doing very very well.

So for the first few years we got a black tie Christmas party and anywhere from $500-1500 bonus, a certificate for honey baked ham and a crate of oranges (yup..oranges).

After those years came a just the oranges and ham and a smaller party at a local club/bar.

Now we're down to hot wings and cheeseballs in the main foyer and a certificate for a turkey...

No. Just a nice xmas party, which I love, but would take the cash instead, even if it's only like 50 bucks.

My wife gets a lunch, and no bonus and works at a huge company.

Oh well.

We took on a HUGE new client this year, so yes, I expect a pretty nice Christmas bonus this week, but really won't know until Thursday as that is our office party and the boss usually hands out the checks then. Some of us have already received an extra week's pay during Thanksgiving week for "Christmas shopping" -- THAT came in handy -- I got that iPod too!

No bonus here, but as others have said, we should receive a company bonus depending on earnings Q1 next year.

I got 0$ and we just had a company meeting about how profits and sales and contracts are going through the roof.

I would also like to hear from people if they are a professional employee, salaried, hourly, etc..

not a "christmas" bonus, but a quaterly bonus. this year that bonus will be about as much as my first "real" job out of college. a bit of an unusual year though. my bonus is usually about 20-25% of base salary.

i work alongside sales, so our bonus structure is pegged to what they sell and how i can retain customers once the sale is complete.

are you still working for the same defense contractor you were a few years ago? if that is so, then you are getting the SHAFT.
