Do you observe the  limit?

When you come across a witty quip* in a thread, do you immediately post a "" in response? Or do you look to see if others have already done so? If, for example, two other people have already ed the original post, do you say to yourself, "Whoa, hold on. Two s are enough for anyone." Or do you throw caution to the wind and post anyway??

I don't post them very often, so if someone does bring the funny, I'll post one... even if someone else has already.

Hey if something makes me giggle then I want the OP to know that he/she made me laugh today so yeah, I'll post a or a , depending on how funny it was.

I don't post them. I mean, I've heard that the mods frown on people posting in response to a thread.

I generally have a conversation with myself that you started:

Whoa, hold on. Two s are enough for anyone.
But that was like, way funny.
I don't want that son of a bitch to get all uppity.
He's cool, I doubt he would do that.
What if he does and thinks he's so great because he got all the s?
Fuck him, then.
Ok, better not chance it.

Don't you hate it when you post something you think is really funny but no one gives a ?

It's like letting another driver in front of you and not getting a courtesy wave.

I dare say that there are a few amongst us who would still be "Cool New Members" if they weren't allowed to post just

I think you should go by their forum ranking, as to have many emoticons it's okay to respond with. Here's my idea.

Cool New Member/New Member - One .
Senior Member - One .
Special Edition - Two 's or one .
Gold/Platinum/Ultimate - Three 's or 2 's.
Limited or Higher - As many 's and 's as you want, but keep it alternating.
Groucho -

Totally! It's not that I start many threads here but occassionally I do come up with a funny post. A few are kinda nice, you know? Makes you feel loved and wanted.

The smiley isn't for showing that you think a post is funny. It's for tagging at the end of a potentially offensive or rude post to somehow "defuse" the situation you've just caused.

Example:

What sucks is when you read a thread that's already pretty long.. Your reading along and you read about 30 funny posts that you would usually add the right after them if you got into the thread from the get go... But being that the thread is already uber long and you continue to read the rest you can't..

For instance I just read Krvdave's dog shooting thread.. 225 posts and a couple that I wanted to give the but just couldn't because I got there so late..

But yea, I will give the no matter how many are before me just so the OP knows he made me laugh..

Heck it makes you feel good.

So...

I post them whenever I find a post, or a response very (actually laughing) funny.
