How do you get rid of moles?

A mole (or possibly many moles) are digging their little tunnels all through my backyard as we speak. Any ideas on how to get rid of these lil' bastards?

Threaten a lie detector test: the mole will try to make a run for it.

Go pee in their holes, I think that will stop them. If nothing else, it will stop your neighbors from ever bothering you again.

I have tried everything. Traps, drowning them, etc. It only takes a few to make a lot of holes, too. I have tried the poison smoke bomb as well. I think that works it your soil is right. My next step is the poison pellets. Carefull about other animals, though. I don't really worry about animals eating the poisoned moles, because animals know that moles taste like ass. Good luck.

Get some plastic explosives, mold it into little mole shapes, drop it in their holes and boom, you are done.

Since when have you cared about other animals?

I love cats. And mainly I said it because I am sympathetic to how other people feel. From what I can gather.....other people feel stupid.

I tried that mole repellant powder stuff... I don't think it works too well. Either that or I'm not using enough, and using more could get expensive fast.

Underground nuke explosions tend to get rid off all grounded pests.

Go for cartoon style and shove a hose into one of their holes and turn it on. Soon you will see little fountains across your yard. Hopefully bouncing on the top of one will be the mole. A Loisville Slugger can come into play here and you can practice a form of T-Ball.

I had a neighbor who used to stand in her yard with a shotgun down the mole hole and blast them to bits. Man, I wish I had a picture of that!!!!

Or, like most of us here, a lil' bit of both.

Auto,
I've looked through all the stuff at Home Depot and I don't like any of the options. The traps are monstrous, and I have zero confidence in them to begin with.

I have at least one mole/shrew as well and I'm just waiting for winter when the stupid things will go away. I've given up. They're all over the neighborhood. If I kill one, I'm sure my neighbor's will come over any way.

There are mole removal services where they place a little bucket thing over the holes (I assume it's either a trap or poison holder) but I have no idea what they charge.

A few years ago during a BBQ, my buddy's wife was complaining about moles in the backyard because she's into landscaping. As a joke, my friend took a pitchfork and made a wild stab into the ground next to a tunnel opening. Much to my amusement and his wife's dismay, he actually impaled one. Every guy jumped about two feet straight up and every woman let out a scream and ran away. It was one of those great WTF moments.

two metal rods a few feet apart pounded into set ground.
battery charger connected to the rods
plug it in and zap them
