Best way to kill ants in my yard?

For the past 2 years I've been getting more and more ants in my yard. The tiny little guys..not the big mean ones.

I bought some "bug killer" from Home Depot last year and spread it over the yard. It worked for like 2 weeks and then the tiny ant hills came back.

Now it's time to get serious..whats the best way?

I do three things. One, I mound kill every two weeks. Two, I place ant baits around the yard. Three, I spray the perimeter of the house (all doors and window especially) monthly.

pour gas on the hill. at least a half gallon, more if it is a larger sized hill
let it soak in for 5-10 minutes. light it on fire and let it burn itself out

I have them under my driveway and it wouldn't be so bad if they'd stay out there! Of course they don't, they have to come inside and crawl all over my house and that just is gross.

Since I have pets and kids, using poison is out of the question. Right now my weapon of choice is black peper...it works...sorta....

Any type of small arm should do nicely. Maybe a 45 or a desert eagle. Then get some little toothpicks to display the dead bodies of any ants you kill. The others will get the message pretty quick and leave you alone.

Ortho Home Defense will wipe them out, and it is pretty cheap.

Make a big sign, with a huge arrow pointing to your neighbor's house.

The materials are easier to get than you might think. Just ask Habib Marwan from "24".

I heard about placing old gallon milk jugs around the perimiter of your yard or something like that.

I think that is to keep dogs out of the yard.

Tell them that you've been lying to them for years, and that you do not, in fact, enjoy their fruitcake gifts. It'll kill em, trust me.

Tell them you just want to date other ants. They'll be gone and making someone elses life miserable. You can kick back with a beer.

Non toxic Sidewalk chalk, the chalk kids use, may help.

Have you tried ant baits in the yard? Those work really well if you sprinkle a few grains of sugar inside.
