I'm addicted to Diet Coke. More specifically the caffeine in it. I really don't like coffee unless it's the good stuff. The free stuff at our work is horrible. The Diet Coke is horrible for my teeth, and the dentist told me I have to stop drinking it.

So what else is there? Having it be "diet" would be great and pretty necessary. Caffeine pills seem like a road I don't want to go down.

I drink ice tea a lot and then just use a whitening toothpaste. I've been drinking coffee, tea and coke since I was a kid and my teeth are just fine.

If you can't stomach iced tea, try breaking your caffeine habbit - it only takes about three days and a bottle of tylenol to do the trick. After that, just remember to take a multivitamin to keep up your energy.

Best of luck.

Well, it sounds like the exact solution you're looking for is "Water Joe" - caffeinated water. Fits every single one of your descriptors

I have a variety of caffeinated products in the fridge and all sugar free. Sugar Free Bawls, Sugar free Sobe No Fear, Sugar Free Source Burn, and old faithful sugar free Red Bull. Just be sure and drink plenty of water with all of these to avoid dehydration from excessive visits to the bathroom.

Water Joe rules. We used to buy it in cases and then use it to make coffee. Of course, we were crazy.

So what is it about Diet Coke that is bad for your teeth? Is it just the carmel coloring that makes them yellow or something more sinister?

Actually, I heard that light or clear colored sodas are worse for your teeth than colas. The light colored sodas usually have some kind of citrus flavor. They add citric acid and other acids, which are murder on your teeth.

About a year ago, I decided to get off of coffee and switched over to green tea. I used to drink a cup of coffee a day (100mg caffeine), so I moved to 2 cups of green tea (80mg caffeine combined).

Green tea tastes pretty good, especially if you get some of the flavored Lipton's. It's good for you, it's the newest "diet" fad according to infomercials (green tea extract pills apparently), and they add all kinds of additional things to it (you can get it with jasmine, ginsing, etc.)

It may not be that good with regards to staining your teeth -- but it's better that coffee.
