Maybe he's trying to sell your boat. That would be interesting.

At least they're trying to be sneaky about it by photochopping it...

Tell them you want 50% of the sale since they're selling your boat..

Looks similar, but the second one has obviously been cleaned up.

Personally, I wouldn't be worried about it, but if you are, how about this:

Is the picture you have one you took yourself of your 1989 boat? If so, post a public question to the auction: Is the boat stolen like the photos?

Alternatively, if there has been any change to the models between 1992 and 1989 models, you could post a question saying that the photo shown DEFINITELY shows a 1989 model, not a 1992 model and ask if he is an honest seller? Perhaps some of us other DVDTalkers could chip in and ask similar questions.

I'm not sure I understand what the point of getting worked up about it is? It's just a pic, there's no personal information in it tying it back to you, they're obviously not taking it from your site as the pics are different, they're not trying to sell you boat, is it really that big of a deal?

Also, given that you sold yours even before this one listed, then they're not even competing with your auction.

Probably far easier to just accept that as life and move on.

thanks everyone...

what pisses me off is,he shows no real pictures of what his boat looks like..i believe he is not an honest person.

x...i have many fake accounts

naughty jonny, the problem with that is he can allow what questions he wants other people to see..

if he refuses to respond back, maybe ill alert the bidders by email...

nemein i feel the big deal is that he shows no real outside pictures of what his boat looks like....

i don`t know....ether im a trouble maker,
or a good citizen, looking out for other boaters.

ps,the pics are different because he photo-chopped some things off..

people gotta learn that most of what I say is TIC whether or not I post smiley or winky faces.

Anyway - if it were me, it would bug me and I'd probably obsess over it and try to get him busted for fraud in some way. I'd at least email all his bidders telling them it's a picture of your boat and provide the original picture.

I have to agree, too many people freely download songs on the internet, and then get overly upset about someone using a simple photo. Unless the traffic was hurting your site, I'd leave it be.

There's no way that's a picture of your boat. Yours has a flag, a towel, and some crap on the back and his doesn't. Plus his is shot with fog in the background but your shot clearly shows land. Maybe he stole the water from your pic and pasted it below his boat, then modified his boat photo to match the angle of yours because he liked the appearance. He's not selling the water, so I think he's okay.

i have nothing to offer, but if it were me looking at that, the forgotten e at the end of ive and then not closing your parenthesis wouldve made me not bid on your boat.

Actually this might be an instance of fraud. Weren't there a lot of people trying to sell exotic cars using jacked pics?

That's what I'm thinking - as a fellow photoshop expert, I'd say that's what he did.

My guess is he either didn't want to launch the boat to take a picture of it afloat or it isn't sea worthy. He does have other pictures of the boat's interior.

If it were me, I would start a thread over at DVDTalk.com seeking advice. Those guys over there are purty smart.*

Email your auction to all his bidders so they can compare your photo to the one in his auction. Let them decide.
