The Craziest Ride I've ever seen

Saw this in Stuff magazine this month

http://www.insanityride.com/

It makes me puke just thinking about it.

Not that I would never ride it- I love thrill rides, but it just doesn't look like that much fun. The risk vs. reward factor isn't quite there, like a rollercoaster would have. It does look pretty darn scary though!

It's not really about the ride being really scary, it's all about WHERE the ride is.

The Big Shot ride on top of the Stratosphere would be completely lame if it was just sitting on the ground, but it's the fact that it is outside on top of a 1000' tower that makes it totaly crazy.

Well.. just think.. if you are on the ride and it happens to break.. you'll land somewhere in the vegas strip and make an impact..

I figure if you can get thrown far enough, you could crash through the pink glass dome over Circus Circus. That would be fun.

I hope they work out the part where the riders hit the supporting arm. Or is that part of the thrill???

The ride with the swings would be MUCH cooler if the seats were facing outward. Would totally change the whole ride.

But if it did, when the ride started spinning the seats would face the sky. I'm pretty sure the designer wanted the seats facing down towads the strip hundreds of feet below to make the riders piss their pants.

I was watching the video again, and even the computer animated parts made me ill.

I have a deathly fear of all thrill rides, due to a fear of heights, but the fear of heights seems to only manifest when it wants to. I can do a lot of things at work that involve me going like 15 feet in the air on a rickety wooden thing, but I can't stand on a chair to change a light bulb .

Either way, no way I'm getting on that thing.

I'm sure the engineering is sound, and testing has been done and redone, but being this high off the ground, the first time something goes wrong, a lot of people are going to die, it'll be shut down, and a lot of money will have been wasted for nothing.

That reminds me...my ex-wife lives out there. Maybe I should give her a call and have her try it.
