Well, this is it...goodbye DVDTalk

Well, it's a sad day for me. I now must leave DVDTalk...not of my own free will, but because (as you can see) I have been banned, which means I'm no longer able to post here.

By now, I'm sure everybody knows about "the incident" so I won't get into it here. All I can say is "I'm sorry" and thank all those involved (especially kvrdave and Bandoman) for not pressing charges.

Until we meet again, Otters. Until we meet again. Hopefully I'll run into some of you on the other message boards out there. If not, all I can say is...it's been fun.

What?

I missed what happened (as my coat was needed elsewhere), but it's always a sad day when I find out that we've lost someone who I've never personally had a misunderstanding or even an argument with.

Here's wishing you, Grouchy, Always the Best of Everything in Life.

Paul

The mods are getting serious when they tell you not to bypass the badword censors.

Looks like a trick to me. Especially since our Great Groucho has posted this since the "banning":

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...99#post5692199

Groucho was not banned.

Does this mean I need to change my sigline to something less . . . Grouchoesque?

I thought it was quite kind of the mods (& powers that be 'round here) to let a "banned-one" write a goodbye post. Usually it's just *POOF*...

...and they're gone!

If it IS just a joke, well then, I'm laughing right now.

(...through my tears... )

Yeah, that part didn't make sense either. I think Groucho cooked it up with some nefarious mod. This is so... Groucho! But he should have done it on April 1.

Go to the forum feedback and check it out. He asked to be banned for life. He will never come back ever.

Duh...

Banned posters are still allowed to post about hubcaps, mufflers and renters. It's legislation that kvrdave pushed through a while back to ensure he would never be affected by a mass banning.

This is a perfect example of what's wrong with DVDTalk. We're told we aren't allowed to discuss banned members. When one of us normal people tries it, the thread gets locked and we get a warning. But that doesn't apply to the clique of 'cool' people. When one of the 'cool' people gets banned, he's allowed to start a thread about it!
