My waters ORANGE !!!

they had to turn the water off today, to do a repair and fix the main line.

so, the water just came back on . and this has happened before, and when it comes back on, its a little cloudy sometimes, which eventually clears right up in about 20 minutes.

But the water is freaking ORANGE !! Its been 2 hours since it came back on, and it actually is getting worse. The water is a dirty brownish-orange, and id rather drink water out of a swamp than this! im gonna give it about 1 more hour, then im complaning-

for now im off to wal mart to buy water! *mad*

It's called iron. happens. look at it this way: you don't have to eat the iron powder in the cereal for a while now!

No...if your water is orange, it's from iron disolving from the pipes...or naturally occurring in the water supply....or triggered by chemical treatment. You might find this interesting:

i thought it was rust when the pipes dry up from no water being in them.

it should be fine by now. (assuming that you let it run for a while, when they turned the water back on.)
