Has anyone here ever used a "professional" resume service?

Just wondering.

Still job searching, and I'm really starting to think there's something seriously wrong with my resume. So has anyone used one of these services? And if you have, which one and what'd you think?

TIA and such.

I used one of the best in the country. We happened upon each other, so she only charged me $200. It looks awesome.

I'd post it here. There are a lot of good people that can give great advice here. You just have to weed through all the bullshit posts and take the honest advice for what it's worth.

minus personal info of course....

See if you can find a networking club in your area. Chances are someone there will do it for a discount or even for free.

there are a ton of them out there on the web but some are not as good as others. i bunch of med students used them for their resume (CV) and personal statements and the results were varied. I guess it really depends on what you are applying for and how crowded or what your resume has. I took a class in tech writing and do a decent job wrt resumes--mine looked better than some of the people who got companies to do it. i guess you get what you pay for with a company--low price isnt always better and go with reputation.

If it is just for a typical job (not advanced degree, etc), i second the suggestin to post it here and let us help you with it. also, keep in mind that some places make you use the same font, no bullets or underline/bold.

But it is for a professional/advanced degree job.

I'll post it later if anyone wants to take a look.
