question for anybody who has lived in San Jose

My company has a position in San Jose CA, which I'm thinking of applying for. For anybody in the forum that has lived there or near it, I was wondering what you thought of the area......

Cost of living is pretty high. Maybe it's better now, since the Silicon Valley bubble-days... Lots to do. Fun atmosphere, I thought. Terrible freeway traffic in & out of the city.

it's pretty nice.. 30 min from Santa cruz(beach) and 3 hours from Tahoe (snowboarding/skiing)
very expensive to live though.. they better bump your sallary 30%
expensive gas, housing, utilities
great weather most of the time...
women shortage... if you're single...
traffic could be bad depending on where from you commute.

Thought you meant San Jose, IL . . . which by the way is pronounced "sanjo's" around here.

I can't stand the place and would never live there. But there are nice places not too far away, such as Saratoga and Los Gatos.
