Stevie Ray Vaughan Appreciation

Hard to believe its been 34 years since we lost one of my favorite musicians. I couldn't find a thread for him but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have an SRV appreciation thread. Feel free to share a memory or video or favorite song.

He died on my 21st birthday.

This was a great session with SRV and Albert King in 1983... filmed/recorded at the CHCH-TV studio in the Hammer. It was so good, it even got a SACD release.

Live at the El Mocambo is one of my favourite concert videos. I just hate that I wasn't there, in person.

LOOOOVED Stevie Ray Vaughn. His Austin City Limits ep and his MTV Unplugged ep were LEGENDARY. I also Loooved that he played on Bowie's "Let's Dance" Album. When i worked at the LA Sports Arena and SRV played some shows there...I got to see David Bowie up close. He was there for the show and was walking from the backstage area to the corridor. Well,he was walking fast and chatting with someone with him and he accidentally bumped into 2 women. He apologized profusely then kept walking. I watched the women have their Minds blown that David Bowie had just bumped into them and spoke to them. It was awesome.

I love when folks from other music genres find appreciation in other genres

Re: Stevie Ray Vaughan Appreciation

the man could play anything and pretty much make it either his own or better than the original Biggest musical regret is not seeing him play live.
