The Black Keys: Ohio Players

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...b6f4354f5.jpeg

1. This Is Nowhere
2. Don't Let Me Go
3. Beautiful People (Stay High)
4. On The Game
5. Only Love Matters
6. Candy and Her Friends (Ft. Lil Noid)
7. I Forgot to Be Your Lover
8. Please Me (Till I'm Satisfied)
9. You'll Pay
10. Paper Crown (Ft. Beck & Juicy J)
11. Live Till I Die
12. Read Em And Weep
13. Fever Tree
14. Every Time You Leave

With the exception of the 3 songs/vids I watched on you tube, I will be listening to this album in full for the first time exclusively on vinyl. I've really liked what I've heard so far as well.

I'll check it out on YouTube eventually, my days of buying their albums blind are probably over.

Interesting, I never liked El Camino and really started liking them again with the release of Let's Rock.

With Beck collaborating on a lot of the songs on this album, it honestly sounds more like a Beck album than a Black Keys album.

As for their albums, I didn't like anything after Brothers (El Camino and Turn Blue), but then Let's Rock, Delta Kream and Dropout Boogie have all been solid. Jury's still out on this new one, but still way better than El Camino and TB.

The last track on Dropout Boogie (Didn't I love you) is one of the best songs they've ever made.

This album is a letdown, but there are 4 songs on ti that I really like.

I wouldn't say that working with Beck was a mistake, but it seems like Dan and Pat gave him way too much creative control.

I ran upstairs while listening to the vinyl then I started hearing rap music....I was wondering if my vinyl got misprinted or something lol - nope, there are two tracks with rap on them and I don't need to hear that on a Black Keys album.

Or maybe this is exactly what Dan and Pat wanted. I hope they don't do this again.

Tour canceled.

They might have to move down to smaller venues or spend a couple cycles on the festival circuit. I was going to try to see them in Charlotte but it wasn’t a priority.

It’s not 2012 anymore. I don’t know who thought they could play arenas still… especially at the prices they were charging.
