Not a fan of country music but it's still sad that she's gone.

Oh man, that is terrible. To lose someone to mental illness is truly heartbreaking. I hope if nothing else it pushes someone to get the help they need. Not a big country fan but I can appreciate her talent and this is a sad loss.

do we know for sure it was suicide and not some kind of overdose?

Her family did say it was due to mental illness and I just saw on the news she had discussed back in 2016 her battle with it and thoughts of suicide.

As others said, not a fan of country music, but quite the loss.

They are probably waiting for an official confirmation as to cause. That's why news outlets have danced around it. It's inferred but if they post and it's wrong, they might be up for possible litigation.

That makes perfect sense.

Still could have been an accidental overdose. If she was taking benzos for her mental illness and OD’d. That would still be a death due to mental illness. Thing is, we don’t know yet and that’s the point.

It may have been a gunshot. I read elsewhere that a Servpro clean-up van was seen parked in front of her house after the police cleared out.

I know corporate branding is a thing, but I would think in cases of high profile people they would be a bit more discreet that sending a bright green "mop up" van.

Terrible news. May she find the peace she was looking for.

They said she dies from mental illness. If she died from an accidental overdose from pills used to treat mental illness, her family would not have none that right away. They would have found her deceased on her bed, sofa, etc. with no obvious signs of trauma. So an overdose would most likely look the same as someone dying of a heart attack or other natural causes in their sleep. On accidental overdose would not be known until after an autopsy was performed.

People is now reporting that Judd took her own life.

That's so heartbreaking.

I just cannot comprehend how someone famous and wealthy can do that to themselves but who am I to question it since it varies individually in what they are going through. I still remember Robin Williams and he too suffered from mental illness.

May her soul be at peace. 🙏

No health problem pays any attention to a person's bank account or fame.

Depression and anxiety are really hard to deal with because you think it's your fault, and that you should just be 'stronger', which can create a cascading effect. If you're not 'strong enough' to deal with depression, it makes you more depressed.

And our culture stigmatizes mental health problems, so people are even more afraid to talk about them. I'm sorry she suffered, and for the loss, confusion, and anger her suicide brings to her family.

Yes, it was on social media right away that she shot herself. Just because the AP or someone doesn’t jump on it doesn’t mean it’s not true.

But even before that, when the Judd daughters said she died from mental illness, anyone with a clue knew what that meant.

I have so many questions. Who did Naomi live with these past many years? I didn't know anything about this family personally. And especially didn't know the she had been mentally ill. I saw a commercial on CBS or ABC that the Judds would be reuniting for the first time in years on 2022 CMT Awards just three weeks ago. I Googled and watched the clip. Naomi looks really out of it here and yet sings right on mark. The clip below is Wynonna and Ashley accepting the Judds award at the Country Music Hall of Fame and they said they kissed her on the forehead saying goodbye.

Always liked the Judd women. So sad to hear Naomi was struggling like this.

It's easy to infer based on her daughter's statement that she likely died of suicide, but at this point it's just speculation as to the method she used to commit the deed. The most common method of an obvious suicide would be self inflicted gun shot, slitting of the wrists, or hanging one's self. A less common method could be leaving a car running in an unventilated garage. There's supposedly some unconfirmed rumor that a professional environmental clean up truck was seen parked outside her residence after the fact. The clean up service could have been there for any type of suicide. Even if one dies in their sleep, a cleanup crew could be called to dispose of things such as the mattresses or couches the person may have died on or to clean up any bodily fluids that came out on the floor/ carpeting, etc.
