Rest In Peace: DMX

DMX, rapper and actor, dies at 50 - CNN

Very sad. Far too young. That voice ...

RIP to one of my favorites growing up.

Tyson coming out to DMX on his first fight back from prison will always give me chills.

The survival rate these days for rappers from the 90s is tragically poor. Rest in peace, DMX.

Re: Rest In Peace: DMX

There was a good 2 year period where DMX was my favorite rapper. I was obsessed with "Get At Me Dog" before his debut album came out and would listen to my cd single on repeat. I went in to my local Blockbuster Video like a week before "It's Dark and Hell Is Hot" came out and this was in the small window where Blockbuster tried selling cds and had a music section. While I was renting a movie I saw behind the counter stacks of cds that had been taken out of a box and I noticed the DMX album on top. I asked it I could buy it also and they sold it to me I guess being new to music sales were not aware of its release date. I was so excited I kept looking back over my shoulder like I was going get arrested or something. I loved that album.

DMX is a sad tale of a man who was once on top of the world, but could shake his demons. Like everyone else, I was a huge fan of late 90's/early 2000's. I had no idea he had 15 children. Rest In Peace X.

Rest in peace to both DMX and Black Rob. Black Rob died a few days ago at the age of 52. What is going on?!

Both were really similar in that they talked the talk and sadly walked the walk and could never quite shake it.

It seems that Rob died of some kidney problems. 52 is still way too young to go.

Heart Attack brought on by drug overdose... RIP.

CNN seems to be the only news source I've found that completely left out the fact that he was hospitalized over the drug overdose, instead opting to just mention the heart attack that came after.

Re: Rest In Peace: DMX

Has it been proven that he actually did die of a heartache caused by an overdose or is that speculation based off of previous behavior? He was easily of age to simply die of a heartache after living a stressful life and his previous drug use. Either way, it doesn't make a difference as he is now gone. Rest in peace.
