I just watched that series, and while it was too heavy on the teen angst, I liked it. The fact that Rodrigo and her co-star wrote some of the songs is impressive.

Jeez. Both songs are so angsty. How many teenage girls are crying themselves to sleep to these songs every night.

Then again, this was my teen angst break up song when I was in high school. Not too much different in the great scheme of things.

I like her, even bought her album, but total flash in the pan. 10 years from now she'll be the answer to a clue on Jeopardy that none of the contestants will get right.

I noticed that practically every song on the record includes the word "fuck", but never in the sexual sense. She likes to be "bold" and "controversial", but still with the training wheels on. And finally, I found it really hard to believe that she's been through so many heartbreaks. No teenage boy in his right mind dumps a hottie like that. If there's been any breakups in her life, she's the one doing the dumping so she can move on to the next hot guy who strikes her fancy.

Maybe this is her trying to break the Disney mold with using the F word.

She is ok but maybe she might be around and we probably said the same about Billie Eilish and she has not gone away.

Eilish's continued career has indeed surprised me. I should point out though, that part of the reason I saw her as a one-hit wonder is her avoidance of the spotlight. I still don't think she'll have a long career in music though, at least not at the top of the charts. And I also still think she doesn't even want that career.

Rodrigo still has "flavor of the month" practically written in letters on her tongue though.

What am I missing here, because I am not getting flash in the pan vibes from her. She is a good looking female singer with several hits under her belt, has done some acting, and did a great job covering a well known song from a beloved singer.

To me, it is a plus that she does not want to go overboard thrusting herself into the spotlight where she might burn bright for a brief period of time but just as likely also quickly burn out.

I suspect she will be around for a while, but I have no crystal ball that can see into the future.
