The Uriah Heep Song Thread
While they've got a ton of albums, some of them only have 2 or 3 good songs. (Although the albums from 1995 forward are really solid, front to back.)
And with a career as long as theirs has been, there are a lot of songs to talk about, so let's just discuss the individual songs here (and we can put up new threads for their new albums as they come out - and they're still coming out). Here's what is probably their most famous track, going almost back to the beginning - back to the early 70's... Another FM Rock Radio hit they had was this gem from 1973... In the 80's they had a brief resurgence of popularity. The 2nd of their two comeback albums featured this FM Rock hit... |
Re: The Uriah Heep Song Thread
I loved their version of Come Away Melinda. Mick Box and Lee Kerslake who passed away month ago are the only original lineup of the band.

Re: The Uriah Heep Song Thread
Unfortunately, Uriah Heep has seen several of their band members pass away over the years (mostly after they left the band). Gary Thain, David Byron, John Wetton, and, most recently, Lee Kerslake. In 2011 long time Heep bass player Trevor Bolder passed away. This was a video I put together to honor him. It's a GREAT track from Into The Wild that Trevor wrote AND sang. Very majestic.

Re: The Uriah Heep Song Thread
This is actually my favorite Uriah Heep song. It came out in 2011 on their excellent Into The Wild album.

I can remember listening to Gypsy turned up really, really loud stoned out of our minds. Always liked Suicidal Man off Wonderworld. Use to play it over and over and over when first came out.

Another gem from Demons and Wizards (1972)...

Re: The Uriah Heep Song Thread
Not Uriah Heep, but Heep related.
Former Heep singer John Lawton did a solo album in 2003, and this is a really cool track from that album... |
Re: The Uriah Heep Song Thread
My eyes used to tear up every time I tried to sing along with this song...
