I caught the documentary, randomly, a few months ago.
I liked some of their stuff, but wouldn't consider myself a huge fan.
That being said, the documentary was excellent, and I really enjoyed it.
The Today Show performances were pretty cool, too.

Yeah, that was odd. I tried posting that from my iPhone. The picture wasn't showing up for me, so I deleted and tried again immediately. How bizarre that someone replied to my now deleted original post within a minute. No one has ever responded that quickly before in the 20 years I've been on DVDTalk.

On the subject of The Go-Go's, I'm currently halfway through John Doe's book More Fun in the New World, which is really a collection of essays from various scenesters about the 80-85 era of Los Angeles punk. Jane Wieldin and Charlotte Caffey each contributed a chapter. Jane's is more music oriented, with stories about "robo-Go Go", how so many times they just went through the motions, while Charlotte is more about her substance use.
Great book if you're even a casual fan of early 80s American alternative music.

Holy crap I only just remembered now that tickets went on sale for the San Diego show today
Luckily there were still seats available in every section. And the difference between cheap nosebleed seats and sitting right up front was 20 bucks.
Row N. See ya there.

I don't want audio and video, I want to BE there, and I will. Cross one band off my bucket list, I've never seen them before.

I've seen them so many times - would go to see them in the seats they would give me and my wife (and my daughter when she got old enough to go) every Summer in Vegas, usually at the Mandalay Pool -- so often I occasionally would refer to it as "Jury duty".

I rarely see bands outside of clubs and small theaters. The Go-Go's have almost always been a large venue act (at least after Beauty and the Beat got big).
