Re: 2020 Grammy Nominees Announced

I am fairly impressed with some of the selections. Several good albums there including Vampire Weekend, Lizzo, Lana Del Rey and actually that Arianna Grande one as well.

How upset must Taylor Swift be to not get an Album of the Year nomination when the field opens to 8? I liked the Lover album and fully expected her to get a nod and possibly the win as well.

That "Hard Place" song by H.E.R. (which I first heard when she played it on the 2019 Grammys show) is pretty fantastic.

The Metal category always seems completely random, but it was nice to see Death Angel get nominated considering they peaked as teenagers back in 1987, but have been on a tear the last 10 years or so after a long hiatus.

Re: 2020 Grammy Nominees Announced

The Grammys nominating Lil Nas X for best album is one of the most laughable things they've ever done. His "album" is an 18 minute long EP (which a quarter of is Old Town Road and the remix) that has a 57 out of 100 on metacritic. I get "Old Town Road" is a musical phenomenon and just based on it's popularity is deserving of a "Record of the Year" nomination but there is no logical reason he is best album material.
