Dead or Alive versus Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallon
This is brilliant. Hope it's o.k. to post this in the Music Talk group.

It was still very funny. I have seen Go West's "We Close Our Eyes" though many many times. And had that album back in the day. "You Spin Me 'Round" was a bigger hit than "King of Wishful Thinking" so it's video had more exposure. Jimmy and Paul need to keep doing these.

He needs to lighten up.
A wild guess he is a Millennial?

Yeah, I mean I guess it could be insensitive, but it's hard to not appreciate that it's also objectively funny. Tough one on some level.
JB69, what's your take on the video if you don't mind me asking?

Dead or Alive are my favorite band of the 80's. I don't have any desire to watch the parody. My most prized vinyl set is the DOA one that has been OOP for quite a while and fetches more than $1,000 on the secondary market. I still have the mispressed vinyl disc that has side 1 of Elvis Presley at some concert that the plant fucked up.

Damn, you guys don't know the Scissor Scistors? Ana Matronic is a girl.
And she's 44.
I don't have an opinion on the subject, because I find Jimmy Fallon to be pretty cringey to begin with, so I haven't watched it. Not really a big fan on the original band, the song, or straight guys dressing up as gays for a laugh, so I'm gonna sit this one out.

Re: Dead or Alive versus Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallon
Is there an article that is supposed to go with it that explains the Wu Tang and kids thing that Ana references? I like the song and Paul Rudd, but I wouldn't call the video "funny". I appreciated their commitment to a shot-for-shot remake, and I certainly didn't see anything mean-spirited about it. I didn't get the sense that they were making fun of the song or Dead or Alive, but I'm also a straight guy, so...

Or, and just hear me out on this, Rudd and Fallon were making fun of a crazy 80s video.

I think Jimmy Fallon and Paul Rudd a few years ago recreating that '80s-era Styx music video is still their best effort:

Ana Matronic sounds a little nutty. Lighten up, sweetheart. It was a loving parody.

Sorry, but it's a pretty big reach to somehow characterize a shot-for-shot remake of an iconic music video as homophobic.
