He should combine his farewell tour with Slayer's.

It'd be good to go, but I'm sure ticket prices will be stupid high. At least I've seen him three times (one solo, two with Billy).

Big Elton fan but I would've thought he should've retired by now. Even when I saw him live, he had trouble hitting high notes like he used to.

Speaking of stupid high and Billy...Billy Joel is playing locally at the K stadium. First concert there since 39 years ago. Nosebleed tickets are $50.

I was able to get tickets. I thought it was modestly priced with only three price tiers.

Grabbed AMEX tix. Got the “cheap” tix at $144 after fees but seats will be okay. Saw him once with Billy Joel and this should be fun.

Re: Elton John retiring from touring - Farewell Tour
Was able to get in on the "verified fan" presale this morning for Hartford. Needing 4 tix together meant I couldn't be choosy with seats and I'm not exactly thrilled with what the computer spit back at me. I really hate the inability to pick my seats online. Still, they were cheap ($60 with fees) and I wasn't about to miss this one. This will be my seventh time seeing him. As a longtime fan, I'm hoping/wishing/praying he does something akin to the 60th birthday shows from 2007 where he played a nice selection of deep cuts and he doesn't just trot out the same 25 hits we've all heard 10,000 times.

I believe this announcement is just a cover-up/smokescreen.
Rumor is that he's slated to begin an exclusive, in-house engagement at Poppy's.

He "retired" once already in 1977.. 40 years later he's doing it again.. and he will again in 2057.

Elton John has added several new stops across the US to the 2020 leg of his mega "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour!"
The 24 new dates include two-night stands in cities like Chicago and Houston, as well as shows in cities like Columbus, Orlando, New Orleans, and Kansas City.

That said, the Disney show was solid enough. Given some of the videos I've seen from this tour, I thought his voice was in decent enough condition tonight. It even sounded sort of good on a couple of numbers. It was really nice to see them play Have Mercy on the Criminal. He didn't play that when I saw the farewell tour in 2018. Indian Sunset was the token deep cut back then.
It's hard to believe he's done touring in North America, but I'm sure he'll pop back up before too long if his health allows it. He talks a lot about spending time with his family, but I think he'll be bored out of his mind.

Oh 2018 me, you were so naive. To think that he would actually play something other than the hits.

I loved that Kiki Dee came out for Don't Go Breaking My Heart, first live performance with her since 2006.

Re: Elton John retiring from touring - Farewell Tour
The camera work for the Disney+ show was marginal. They could have cut all of the crowd close-ups (focusing on that proposal during I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues was cringe as well as all those randoms towards the end) and not reuse the pan in over the Dodger Stadium marquee so many times. I would have preferred to see some of the projected video if they had to cut away. Overall, I thought Elton sounded pretty good. His duets with Brandi and Dua Lipa were ok. Nothing outstanding. Kiki Dee while nice seeing her, was struggling a bit.
