Fast Eddie Clarke (Motorhead) R.I.P.

The entire classic era Motorhead line-up is gone.

Fast Eddie Clarke, also founder of Fastway, passed away yesterday at the age of 67.

That's a shame. I was hoping for one more Fastway album (their last, Eat Dog Eat, was pretty darned good).

I was always a big fan of both Motorhead and Fastway.

Back in '83, I worked for Fastway's record company (CBS) and supported the band whenever they came to the Boston area. When they found out it was my 21st birthday, they all took me out for dinner and got me nice and drunk. Plus they sang me 'Happy Birthday' from onstage at the Providence Civic Center (opening for Iron Maiden), which was really cool.

Loved Fastway. Watched Trick or Treat recently, their music worked great in that film.

I'm also a big Fastway fan. Sadly, never got to see them live.

I'm not really a Motorhead fan, but I sure was a Fastway fan. Great band form the 80's that didn't get much respect or airplay beyond "Say What You Will" and the remake of "Easy Livin"
