Re: U2 Songs of Experience

June 21st in Boston. Very excited since I wasn't able to make the JT2017 show. Hopefully I will have better luck with the presale than I did on the JT one.

If they add another night or two at Boston Garden, I'll look to go. That's what they did on the 2015 tour--the first night sold out and they added more shows, and I got a ticket for $45 for the third night. I mostly see smaller bands at clubs, and usually turn my nose up at "stadium rock," but I must admit it was a fantastic show.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

Carter Allen said there could be up to 4 nights in Boston based on demand. I would expect at least a second show. I can't remember the last time they did an arena show in this area with only 1 date.

If you don't know who he is, he is a longtime Boston DJ who I believe was the first DJ in America to play U2 and actually does know the band or at least people on Team U2. He has been thanked by them multiple times in the past and he has written 2 books on U2.

Yawn. I don't know who was more bored with that song, me, or U2.

Yeah, sadly that's not a very good song. Seems like U2's best studio work is long behind them. And they are now only a serviceable touring band. Just like Depeche Mode. At least U2 still put on a great show. "Achtung Baby" was their last great album IMO. "ATYCLB" and "HTDAB" were decent. Everything after that? Not good. And I think "Songs of Innocence" is probably their worst effort to date.

I love that song and it is better than what is popular these days (Imagine Dragons cough).

While I am not while about any of the 5 songs that have been shared, I disagree about SOI, that is probably their strongest since AB.

Yeah, didn't care for that song. Another one of the bland, mid-tempo, major key songs that they've gotten so comfortable with.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

Well big shocker here. Part of the Innocence group due to letting my sub lapse due to a move end of last year after having been a member for over 20 years and just like JT I am unable to get tickets to a show. The same exact seats I sat in for the IE show in 2015 for like $125 are now $290 which is outrageous. Of course ZERO GA seats at all. Biggest crock of shit ever. Worst fan club experience I have ever experienced in my 30+ years of belonging to various fan clubs.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

I had no issues getting GA, seats were a bit high (priced and location for price). I will be trying for 3 total shows.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

Seems like GA's were in less abundance today, than yesterdays presale. Check again on Nov 20. However, I didn't notice a big increase in pricing in the seats. There were lots of rip-off seats for I&E, and I scored a seat that dropped from $300 to $100 a week before the show.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

Yeah I may just have to wait. Like I said the exact seats that were $125 in 2015 are $290 at this show. Hopefully they will be adding at least 1 other show as well

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

Sounds like there were tons of issues with todays sale. You can get a refund for the u2.com membership, but you may want to wait, since it sounds like there was such issues, they may have to do something for the innocence group.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

I am not going to get a refund because the tickets are not the only reason I am a member albeit the biggest. I actually was going to try for 2 red zone tixs in NJ since it is a Friday show and just stay over down there but i couldn't find anyone to go with me and I am not going to NJ by myself.

Josh, you might want to try on your phone. Some people are reporting GAs popping up on moblie app, but not desktop.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

Got my Priority Access Pre-Sale code this morning!
Will try (I assume I will get seats if I got selected for a code, but not 100% sure) to get tickets in a half-hour. I want reserved seats. I'm way too old for GA Floor these days.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

Well, shit that was weird and frustrating. First I selected Best Available seats and was looking at $728 for 2 tickets. No thanks! I eventually got rid of those from my cart (took a while) then tried to get upper-level seats. I got a glitch when checking out and it said my session expired. Then I remembered that Axs doesn't really work with Firefox browser. I used Google Chrome and got $110 seats. They're lower level but behind the stage (which sucks). I guess they're doing some sort of theater in the round? They're selling tickets all the way around the arena.

Re: U2 Songs of Experience

Got an email from U2.com saying that they noticed i had problems getting tickets and to call a number and speak with their help desk to see what they could do. I am on the phone with them now.
