actually, I'd bet that he was on medications for heart failure that made him bloat up like that.

Technically everyone dies from the lack of perfusion of oxygenated blood to the brain.

Someone can blow the top of your head off in a high-oxygen environment and you'd still die no matter how much oxygen your poor newly-exposed brain is exposed to..

Or the heart problems contributed to the weight issues. You can really pack on the water weight when your heart starts to fail.

Edit, I see that TGM mentioned weight gain from medications. That's also possible.

George Michael was always a healthy, trim guy. I kind of doubt he suddenly went 1977 Elvis in his final couple of years.

Monkey had been released as a single and had just hit #1 right as the Faith tour came to the newly opened Palace of Auburn Hills - the radio/extended mix version was probably being played 15-20 times a day on radio. When the crowd heard those monkey sounds like in the video, the place went fucking crazy. I'll never forget that response

Back then, while the pop/top 40 stations were playing his singles, the black/urban stations were also playing One More Try, Father Figure, and especially Hard Day. The man actually has an American Music Award for best R&B artist! I can't think of many white artists that got that kind of love from black radio. That list is Teena Marie, George Michael, and uh.....

Sucks he died.

Just like Prince he had a good soul and did a lot of charity work where he did not seek credit for.

Shame on anybody that makes fun of him or his weight and even though he is a pop star he is human just like the rest of us. TMZ should not have published those photos.

Maybe this helped bridge that gap

I didn't know about the Documentary, but I guess that explains why this remaster came out last week.

I listened to it last week (without prejudice -rolleyes- ) and enjoyed the MTV Unplugged tracks a lot.
