Can't say I've ever been more than a casual listener, but they were pretty big in that era.

I like Airplane, but really got into the other things like Blows Against the Empire and Sunfighter.

Damn, another great musician has passed away. I always dug the pre-80s Jefferson Starship and Kantner's playing, sad to see him go.

And in a strange case of coincidence, Signe Anderson passed away on the same day as Paul. She was the original singer of Jefferson Airplane, replaced by Grace Slick.
