Very nice tune from Deep Purple, nice solo by Blackmore who I heard hated the song. Metallica did a cover but it wasn't that good IMO.

A couple more gems from Gord Lightfoot. First, "A Tree Too Weak to Stand" from 1975's Cold on the Shoulder. Second, the lovely ballad "Anything for Love" from his first-rate but critically maligned 1986 album East of Midnight.

I'm partial to The Nadas. Here's the gentle "Ghost". I'm especially fond of the recurrent woodwind (oboe?) instrumentation that flutters up throughout the song. I have a feeling I have posted this song in this thread before, but a search yielded nothing.
