Re: The CD Thread
I'm still buying CDs partly because I'm finding a lot of the classic rock/prog/jazz stuff I want is actually cheaper on CD as opposed to MP3. Why pay an extra couple of bucks, especially when Amazon has autoRIP for most of this stuff?

Re: The CD Thread
I buy a lot more iTunes than I used to simply for the instant gratification, but I still buy the CD's for my favorite artists. That will never change as long as I am able to do so.
All of my CD's are in binders and the cases are in boxes. I was going through those boxes the other day and it made me pretty nostalgic looking at the cases for CD's I bought 20+ years ago. Nothing digital can replace the feeling of holding the packaging in your hands. |
Re: The CD Thread
It's getting closer, but CDs still outsell full-album downloads.

Re: The CD Thread
Huge music fan, and definitely still into buying CD's. Actually, CD is the primary (though not only) way I listen to music. It is the only way I listen to music in my car.
I'm in my 40's, so that probably has something to do this - I grew up with the CD format.... Not into Vinyl, though. I haven't had a record player since 1990, and never plan on buying one again - never liked that format. EDIT: The only dedicated CD store (that sold used & new CD's) in my area recently went out of business. No surprise, since I expected them to go out of business years ago... |
