DR. DRE: "Straight Outta Compton' Soundtrack" -2015 or Never
Dr. Dre Working on 'Straight Outta Compton' Soundtrack, Which He Might Not Release
Great news! Dr. Dre is working on a new album. Even more exciting, the album is inspired by the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, which means its inspired by the work he did on the immortal album of the same name.
But wait, there's gotta be a catch, right? After all, Dre's been sitting on the rabidly-anticipated Detox for an eternity. Well, you're right. There is a catch. A big one: He might not release this album.
"I'm working on something right now. I don't want to put it out there just yet and say that I'm definitely gonna put it out," Dre told Rolling Stone. "But I'm really feeling what I'm working on right now. This would be a record that's inspired by the movie."
In other words, don't get your hopes up. But you can feel free to get excited for the N.W.A biopic, which has an official release date (Aug. 13) and is sounding more intriguing with every new interview.
According to Dre, the film will address N.W.A's perceived misogyny (a number of their songs, including but not limited to "A Bitch Iz A Bitch," feature problematic lyrics). "We really wanted to get across, one of the things, was how we feel about women because there's a big misconception, how much we respect our women," he told RS in the same interview.

I assume he has a financial stake in the biopic, the only reason he's talking about releasing something again. He's made enough money from royalties and headphones that he never needs to release another song ever again. I don't believe we'll ever see anything released by Dre under his own name ever again.

Dre working on an album that he might not finish or release? I for one am shocked.

Axl and Dr.Dre should team up to make an album. "Straight Out of Chinese Democracy" could be the title.
