You know that U2 album we were all hoping to see later this year?
Yeah, looks like that's not gonna happen after all.
Billboard reports the band has scheduled additional recording sessions, which will push the album's release to 2015. Additionally, a tour that had been expected to start in September now won't begin until the summer of next year.
The band has released two new tracks in the past few months — Ordinary Love, which appeared in the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and received an Academy Award nomination; and Invisible, which premiered during the Super Bowl and initially was offered free on iTunes.
U2 had not announced an official release date for the new album, which they have been recording with Danger Mouse. According to Billboard, the newly scheduled sessions will be with producers Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth.
"We've been at (work on the album) for a while now," Bono told USA TODAY's Elysa Gardner in January. "In this band, a song isn't finished until it's being sold online, or in the shops. And even then, Edge might try to remix it."
