Scalpers have already thrown up the Alien liquid vinyl for 2-3 times the original price on ebay:

Yep. And they are getting it too! The lowest was $450.

Did anyone score themselves a copy of that liquid filled Alien LP? $225 was the cost.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
I'm not ashamed. If I bought one of the Aliens, I would flip the hell out of it and buy these imported Japanese Blue Note reissues on eBay. If you like the Music Matters series, these are supposed to be just as good. Search blue note dblp on eBay.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Oh, I would too. It just hurts forking over the initial $225 investment.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Forgot all about Newbury Comics. They also have a presence on Amazon and some of their stuff their can be had for less than their actual site.
I went ahead and scooped me up some Nightwish in a Magenta/Silver splatter: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...8L._SX466_.jpg |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
I'm still on VINYL'S mailing list and they sent out an RSVP to their unveiling tomorrow of what seems to be a new turntable . They're calling it trntbl by VNYL.
EDIT - here's the story: http://la.racked.com/2016/4/29/11538...-trntbl-venice https://cdn3.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/SUX...l_BW_1.0.0.jpg https://cdn0.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/_sh..._black_1.0.jpg |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
Scored a copy of this today, although they don't actually ship until "Q3 2016"
http://i.imgur.com/0mrBcRE.png There's also a non-limited blue & purple edition. Best game soundtrack of the last few years, in my opinion. |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
i saw VNYL was also partnering with a hotel and installing turntables and records in every room.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Head's up for anyone interested in Rob Zombie's Electric Warlock album...
Target has it for $13.99 on CD and it comes with a free vinyl redemption code. They did the same promo for Megadeth's new album. I redeemed that one and it showed up at my door within a week or two. It's a killer deal if you want the vinyl and a CD you can play in the car. |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
They did that with The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers reissue. $19.99 for a double CD with LP by mail. I almost went for it but I already have an original LP. They might still have some laying around.
|
Re: The VINYL Thread!
Shit, that's pretty awesome. How does that work, though? Are they packaged together or do you redeem through the mail or what? I see the new Megadeth album also has that deal and that album is $11.99.
EDIT - I just re-read islandclaws post |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
Here's VNYL's shop at The Goodlan Hotel, so if you're in SB there's that option.
http://www.thegoodland.com/santa-barbara-hotels/vnyl/ The Redbury Hotel is a boutique hotel in Hollywood. They also have stripper poles in the rooms and have vinyl players and LP'S: http://theredbury.com/hollywood/?utm...nt=websitelink http://s3-media4.fl.yelpcdn.com/bpho...q3MuIcdQ/o.jpg |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
Still don't have a turntable, will buy one..., but just realized a album I LOVE had a special edition 2x LP released on record store day.
What's the best to track down a copy? Suppose I should start with my local store, but I have no idea if that's something they are able to source. |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
Yup, your local store may have it. Also try stores in neighboring cities; they could be willing to ship.
There's also eBay. You'll pay more, depending on the demand for the album, bud at least you're guaranteed to find it. What album is it? |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
Discogs, eBay, and Amazon. Redbury Comics, too.

The Monster Squad singles went up for sale today. The Werewolf variant is sold but Dracula remains. $15.

Anyone do this with Blackstar? I tried it with a normal light. Pretty cool. Not going to lie, I teared up. The first reports made it sound like sunlight permanently changed it, but that doesn't seem to be the case. |

Waxwork has announced The Warriors releases. Pictured above is the deluxe edition, which retails for a whopping $125. Regular variants are $40, meaning you're paying $85 for a 12-page booklet, two patches, and a slipcase. Pass. |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
I'm liking The Lost Empire score Mondo put out this week.
