Re: The VINYL Thread!
I want the MFSL reissue of one of the greatest albums of all time, Elvis Costello - Imperial Bedroom. I want Blood on the Tracks too. Those things are too much for me, however. I bought so much vinyl recently... I suppose the things recently I bought that stood out were:
Rezillos - Can't Stand the Rezillos (original) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...lbum_cover.jpg Bootsy's Rubber Band - Bootsy? Player of the Year (with removable Bootsy glasses) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...f_The_Year.jpg Scott Pilgrim vs the World S/T (red vinyl) http://www.soundstagedirect.com/medi...soundtrack.jpg I also got an Apple label copy of Revolver for $1. My main focus has been running my existing records through that Spin Clean system. A lot of my old records are beat but I discovered lots of good stuff, like all 4 of the Smiths records and Louder than Bombs being nearly flawless after running them through the cleaner. |
Re: The VINYL Thread!
I have Imperial Bedroom on vinyl already, so I haven't bothered with the MFSL version...yet. But I do agree that it's an incredible record.
I just got a discwasher, and have yet to run any records through it. Gonna try and get to that this weekend. |

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Thinking about getting the NIN Hesitation Marks and In Utero boxed set on vinyl this week.
|
Re: The VINYL Thread!
Oh man, this MFSL issue of Blood On The Tracks sounds unbelievable. The one crappy thing about being into vinyl is that sometimes you hear a recording that is so good on record that you don't want to hear it on CD or MP3 anymore.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Same thing happened with "Too Much Too Soon", the power and fullness of the tones made it sound like I was hearing the album for the first time.

I know I have the SACD of Blood on the Tracks but not sure if I ever listened to it. Something to do tonight. :)

Do you have the SACD version, by any chance? I have two copies on vinyl, the CD, MP3, SACD, and I'm really hoping you're not going to talk me into buying the MFSL version as well!!

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Shit, already gone.

Re: The VINYL Thread!
Ha, good on that Mr Boyd. I had initially bought it and then canceled the order, because I'm not familiar with Sonic Youth. I wanted it just to have it but I don't roll like that. I'd rather let an actual fan have it.

I remember Salma Hayek doing that same style cover spread for Los Angeles Magazine back in the 90's.
