Who could forget the 5-star Rolling Stone review for the EPIC Mick Jagger masterpiece, Goddess in the Doorway?
By the way, the thread title has the wrong album title AND release date.

Well, I sampled the album yesterday. I'm a big fan of the band and I've got to say....I think its the best thing they've ever done. It's going to be the first actual CD I've bought in about a year. Very very very good stuff.

I listened to all 3 of their albums back to back to back. All 3 are really good albums. The new albums is little different than their previous work. That Ya Hey song can easily get stuck in the head.

I've always been kind of "take them or leave them" about Vampire Weekend. VW and Contra were good enough but never really grabbed me. Modern Vampires of the City is just fantastic though. Like the poster above, I friggin' love Diane Young.

I'm still on the fence. First listening left me disappointed. Second listen, much less so. Since then, LOVE Unbelievers. Odd choice on the opening track. There are a few duds here (Everlasting Arms?).

Picked up the white vinyl today and listened to it a couple of times already. I think its really good but, if you hate their first two albums, I wouldn't imagine you would like this one.

First listen today for me found it frightfully dull. To many mid-tempo and slow tunes - and not enough energy to it. Luckily it was a friend's copy I heard, as now that I have, I think I'll be passing on it.

On first listen it's not what I expected, which is good. It's very good actually.

I'd agree. I'd say there are 4 or so quality VW songs and a bunch of dullards.
