And this only works if you bought the vinyl from Amazon direct and not third market sellers.

Oh, and pre-orders qualify, because I have the Blade Runner vinyl score on pre-order and it's already in my cloud.

Weird - I bought the new Low album and only one track showed up. It seems fairly random sometimes. I think I've purchased two other albums where only one track was autoripped.
Oh and this is fairly irrelevant, but I'd purchased a Mike Doughty album on cassette last year on a lark and that was just autoripped the same time as vinyl started showing up.

Are they still granting autorip for previously purchased discs (purchased from Amazon)?
I recently preordered a disc, thinking the price would go up on release date. It did not go up, and now it states it comes with autorip.
Wondering if I should wait a bit to get autorip after the fact, or rebuy/return the original purchase. I do return stuff to Amazon but I'm a little wary of doing it too often. Or just not worry about it.
(I like Autorip because the majority of my personal collection is in Amazon Music, and I play music via Echo devices very often, so I like having new stuff there.)

I can't find anything that states that they're still retroactively adding autorip to purchases. However, it can take up to 48 hours from when the purchase ships:
You could try contacting customer service to see if they can add the digital album for you without having to return and re-order.
You could also rip the CD yourself and upload it to Amazon Music:

It does not appear to be there. When I try to play a track from it it sends me toward "Other music like this you may like".
I'll give it a day or so then email support. I'll play it stupid and refer to this clause: "If you purchase an AutoRip-eligible CD or vinyl record as a pre-order, the MP3 version of the music on the album will typically be added to your Amazon Music Library on release day. "
Amazon Music doesn't accept personal uploads anymore : (
