Two words: Milli Vanilli.

And Thomas Dolby's "Map of the Floating City" not even being nominated for Album of the Year further proves how full of shit the Grammys are.

Right because that's the only obscure album by an 80s artist that barely sold and barely anyone's ever heard of ever to not be nominated for a Grammy. You proved it with that one.

Plus it was released in October of 2011. Would it even qualify for a 2012 granny award?

Re: 55th Grammy Awards Nominees Announced

Yes, we all agree that from the Starlight Vocal Band to "Love Will Keep Us Together" to "Don't Worry, Be Happy" to "Wind Beneath My Wings" there have been many, many horrible honorees. That doesn't change the fact that these are the music industry's highest awards and the do havve some relavence. So please, everyone, stop posting about how the Grammys get everything wrong and have since the Sixties. The 55th awards will be handed out tomorrow. Watch or don't watch. Care or don't care. Rest assured that even if your favorite artist or album goes home empty-handed, his music still has merit and value, both to you and many others. Don't feel the need to tell us yet again how much the Grammys suck because we all know. Especially about Jethro Fucking Tull.

Doesn't look like Jethro Tull is nominated for anything this year! What bullshit!

I'd like to see Stronger win something. Good song, good performance, and has a "message" to boot.

I doubt anyone regrets the 1988 metal Grammy more than Jethro Tull themselves considering how everyone turned on them for winning over their metal golden boys.
Jethro Tull's fans did not turn on them because they won a grammy award. Jethro Tull just ceased making good music after "Crest Of A Knave", hence the lack of sales.

Taylor Swift is very young but if she wants to write a song about me shes free to do so.

Who was the guy that sang with Elton? I guess i will show my age there by not asking that in reverse

Ed Sheeran, the song was called The A Team

Loved Jack White, but I swear he's starting to physically resemble Johnny Depp's version of Willy Wonka more and more as time goes on.

Katy Perry's boobs should host the next Grammys. They are mesmerizing.

Chris Brown is such a douche. Did anyone see when Rihanna flinched earlier when he started clapping next to her? You can't make this shit up.

Who's the new young country singer who is a doppleganger for King Joffrey? I keep waiting for him to command LL Cool J to cut out Taylor Swift's tongue.

Re: 55th Grammy Awards Nominees Announced

Every so often in the past few years the Grammys surprise me with an excellent choice I never saw coming. Two years ago it was Arcade Fire winning Album of the Year, this year it's Gotye winning Record of the Year over fun.'s "We Are Young". I thought "Someone That I Used To Know" was easily the best single I heard in 2012, but really thought it had no chance tonight. Delighted that I was wrong there.

BTW : When was it decided that Jay Z was going to be the George Clooney/ Jack Nicholson of the Grammys? No peformance is complete until Jay Z gives his tacit nod of approval. Sure he's been around a long time, but is he the biggest music artist on the planet? I'm not sure he's even the most successful hit maker in his own house.
