I want the deluxe sets but I can't justify spending $300 on them.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

I love Metallica (even Load, Reload and St. Anger) but there is a lot on there that I would never listen to. Especially if the live stuff is bad quality. I also doubt any remastering is going to make any of the albums sound better. I would however love No Life Till Leather on CD so I expect it to never be released.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

Count me down as another who'd like to see a vinyl for NLTL first. I'll get these new remastered vinyl editions but passing on the pricey box sets. I've got loads of live Metallica music coming out of my ass (I should probably see a proctologist), so the additional goodies don't entice me much.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

Confirmed: There no plans to release NLTL CD/DELUXE

re: KEA/RTL

Everything in this set has been mastered and the Lyceum show is sourced from the master tape (which is why songs long Phantom and Ktulu are included).

Howie Weinberg at Howie Weinberg Mastering: Remastered Kill/Ride
Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering: Vinyl Masters
Mark Santangelo at The Mastering Place: Mastered Paris '84, JITF b-sides and Palladium '85
Reuben Cohen at Lurssen Mastering: Mastered all bonus CDs

I'm excited for the eventual MOP Deluxe Box
I'm very excited for the eventual AJFA & TBA Deluxe Box
I'm fucking excited for the eventual LOAD/RELOAD Deluxe Box

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!

We had such an amazing time playing in our hometown stadium the night before the Super Bowl that when asked we couldn’t say “no” to another chance to be a part of a very special weekend, the opening of the brand new U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN! On Saturday, August 20, 2016 we’ll be hitting the stage for the first ever rock show at the stadium as part of the opening weekend festivities featuring Luke Bryan the Friday before. Joining us that night are our friends Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat for a proper kick-off to the new football season in a new home for the Vikings.

Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster on Friday, March 25th at 10:00 AM CDT, but Fifth Members can pick up theirs in a special presale starting on Tuesday, March 22 at 8:00 AM CDT. Log in for more details on how to pick up your tickets early. Not a Fifth Member? Join now!

LIBERTÉ, ÉGALITÉ, FRATERNITÉ, METALLICA! COVER ART & AUDIO SAMPLE

About a month ago we told you how excited we are to be the Ambassadors for this year’s Record Store Day celebrating independent retail. As a part of the festivities, we also mentioned that we’ll have a special exclusive CD release, Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica! - Live at Le Bataclan, Paris, France - June 11th, 2003, donating all profits to victims of the attacks in Paris in 2015. We’re back today with a sneak peek of the cover art below and a preview of the music with "Fade to Black.”

The CD includes our full nine-song performance from Le Bataclan and was mixed by Greg Fidelman. It will be available exclusively to independent retail and on Metallica.com on Saturday, April 16th. And keep watching here for more Record Store Day news and exclusive previews!

The remastered version of The Four Horsemen has been released. It sounds pretty good.

Oh man, those box sets look pretty, not sure if I want to pony up the cash for them though.
