Damn, Taylor can sell albums.

She's on there with Queen, Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, and Bob Marley.

No doubt she can move vinyl like nobody's business, but I think a lot of it is down to people just not buying albums in favor of AYCE streaming services, and the physical albums are mostly going to collectors and enthusiasts.

Not Taylor related but yeah Rumors remains a hugely popular album 48 years later.

My nephew in HS is big into it right now.

Is Dark Side of the Moon still selling steadily? I think it was appearing on the Billboard Top 200 for decades.

Kind of weird that high school kids would be into Fleetwood Mac. That seems like something that would be very 1970s. Oddly enough, I know quite a few tweeners and teenagers who are really into 1980s stuff. I guess they're going through a sort of anemoia thing.

I am surprised at Queen's popularity, and how well they do on streaming platforms.

The shirts or the music? The catalog isn’t extensive and one is mainly a cover album.

It must be an interesting experience for a teenager to listen to Nirvana with Cobain's suicide being ancient history. I was listening to Nirvana while he was still alive, so his death by suicide at the height of his group's popularity was shocking as hell. But if you're a kid today, it's fait accompli, like JFK's assassination was to me. JFK was killed a decade before I was born, so he was always just the dead guy.

TBH, I think the shirts are probably more the thing than the music. But the subject came up because in the span of 2 days, 2 different Nirvana songs came on the radio, and she was singing along to both of them. And not because of me, I was playing her stuff from the Beatles and alt-country and folk side of my collection when she was little, not grunge.

Trailer for the 6 part docuseries. Seems like overkill, but still for fans it will be a fascinating look behind the scenes at a really remarkable stage event.
I love the final clip here, planning a sequence in the show with her mother.

The same day that the second Era Tour concert film, and three episodes of her tour documentary drops. That's a lot of Taylor content.

Here's a review of the Channel 4 doc

Taylor gave out $197M in bonuses to her workers on the Eras tour. That's absolutely insanely generous. Watching the utter shock in her dancers and crew here is amazing.

Watched the first two episodes of the documentary. Pretty interesting stuff. Adding the whole extra Era in the middle of the tour is crazy enough, but to add a new song for Florence's appearance, with new choreography was utterly bonkers. Loved the profile on Cam. If you saw the tour, you immediately could appreciate how full of life and joy he was and how important he was to the show. It was nice to get to hear his story. The fact that his only brother won a Super Bowl with Taylor's fiance is so wild a coincidence.

And Nathan Hubbard essentially confirmed that the dancers bonuses were $750K each. That's mind-boggling!
