Taylor asks her fans to not cyberbully John Mayer before launching into "Dear John" as her first Surprise Song

I don't why John Mayer is put on this pedestal.

I think he and his music sucks.

She didn’t put him on a pedestal.
I have to assume her fans went after Jake Gyllenhaal pretty hard when Red TV came out and she doesn’t want the same vitriol directed at Mayer.
As she says, she’s not doing this to open old wounds or because she’s still mad. She’s doing it to own her music again.

Now as to why she recorded Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve for the new album, that is anyone’s guess

I doubt Swift will do Coachella. She's WAY bigger than that festival. Now, Glastonbury in 2024, that's a potentially different story.

My issue with Mayer is that he's actually super talented guitar player, but he uses that natural talent to make shitty fucking songs.
That's worse than if he didn't have that talent. He's basically using his ability for evil!

If Taylor says mean things about John Mayer, he could release a statement that says her body is definitely not a wonderland, but more of a cheap county fair with a dry, rusty Ferris wheel and too many riders on the merry-go-round.

John released his own Taylor Swift dis track after Speak Now came out, but it’s pretty inferior to the hit job Taylor pulled off.

Fold a scarf, Moroccan red
And tie your hair behind your head
Strap into some heels that hurt
You should've kept my undershirt

Is that the mythical scarf showing up in someone else's song?

It't really sad when an artist has to ask their fans not to be mean to someone online because of a song. Neither Taylor Swift nor John Mayer give a fuck about you. These types of songs were lame back when John Lennon recorded How Do You Sleep? Rant over.

I mostly agree. I really hated her woe-is-me lyrics like “Don’t you think 19’s too young to be messed with?”. She was old enough to know what she was getting into.
That said, the guitar solo on “Dear John” being an almost direct riff of Mayer’s “Gravity” is truly a rare achievement. Hang that shit in the Louvre. To rip an artist with a near perfect imitation of his musical style takes a special kind of spite and inspiration.

Kansas City has been getting prepared for her two shows at Arrowhead. Local news has warned of tix scams to be aware of. And they've had fashion picks for the concerts.

Change of plan got Stubhub Floor tix to Mexico city.. 750 + fees ( so 1000 )
Used Miles to fly to Mexico and Hotel points for the stay.

The international leg skips China and India two of the most populous countries on the planet.

China probably because of the authoritarian government and India might not have the stadiums or infrastructure?

Skipping India won’t be because of stadiums or infrastructure. There are plenty of places that could accommodate large crowds. Cricket stadiums are surprisingly big and India can put on massive events. For whatever reasons most western artist skip India completely. I don’t think western artists think they can monetize or foster the audience compared to other places. For reference, Micheal Jackson played in the country only once.

Metallica played there in 2011 and Guns N' Roses, Katy Perry, and U2 maybe had a multiple night gig there.

It is strange they are not high on the list for artists to perform there.

How big is Taylor's tour? The biggest grossing world tour ever is Elton John's Farewell, Yellow Brick Road, which has grossed $887M and wraps up next week in Sweden.
Taylor will surpass $1B in Singapore next March and still has all of Europe. It's conservatively estimated her tour will gross $1.4B (that's just face value tickets, not counting resale prices that easily triple the face price).

To be fair, Elton's "goodbye" tour started in 2018, and while it took a break for Covid, that's still about 5 years, with multiple stops in the same cities.

Looks like she will not do the Super Bowl halftime show in 2024

However, the new Eras Tour dates indicate she will not be taking the stage at the Super Bowl next year. Swift will be in Tokyo, Japan, performing at Tokyo Dome for four nights, from February 7 through February 10, 2024. The Super Bowl LVIII will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada—making it highly unlikely the singer will hop on a 14 hour flight from Tokyo to Nevada.

So who will perform at the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime show? Other pop stars reportedly in the running are Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Harry Styles—or, it could be a total surprise.

I still think a 2025 halftime show will be likely. Reason: the 11th Taylor Swift studio album will be out by November 2024.

Or she waits until Super Bowl 60 in 2026 at Santa Clara if that was the goal she set?

I want to see Ghost play a Super Bowl halftime show. Just to watch Middle America collectively shit themselves. (Even more than Janet Jackson's pastie.)

Or maybe Slipknot if they take Chris and Craig back. (Ain't the same without their distinctive masks.)

Everyone else... bleh.

It is strange Metallica has not been asked to perform.

Their music has spanned decades and their music is played all the time at sporting events and they are mainstream where almost everybody knows who they are.

Do you really think Jay Z is going to pick Metallica to perform the halftime show?
