Miranda Lambert - Four The Record (11/1/11)

Miranda Lambert To Release Limited Deluxe Edition Of Upcoming Album
RCA/NASHVILLE artist MIRANDA LAMBERT will release her new album “Four The Record” on NOVEMBER 1st and there will also be a Limited Deluxe Edition version of the album that includes bonus song "Hurts To Think" and a DVD featuring MIRANDA sharing stories behind each song.
“I’m so ready for the fans to hear it,” said LAMBERT. “‘Baggage Claim’ is such a groovy song and I’m glad it’s the first single. But just like Revolution, not one song represents the whole album. There are ‘All Kinds Of Kinds’ of music on the Record, and I’m so excited for it to get out there.”
Of the 14 tracks on the album, MIRANDA wrote or co-wrote six of them including her single “Baggage Claim” which features JOSH KELLEY on background vocals and STEVE WINWOOD on the B-3 organ. The album also includes a duet, “Better In The Long Run,” with her husband BLAKE SHELTON, which was written by PISTOL ANNIE’S group member ASHLEY MONROE and LADY ANTEBELLUM’s CHARLES KELLEY, with songwriter GORDIE SAMPSON. BRANDI CARLILE wrote the song “Same Old You” and also provided background vocals for it on the album.
“To me, part of having a long career is to keep reinventing yourself, keep reinventing your music, and make it fresh. And it’s kind of crazy to think that I’m on my fourth record, and after what Revolution did for my career, I was nervous, but what am I gonna do? So I just started writing, started collecting songs, finding songs, and listening to artists, and I just found that I’m gonna just let the music lead it. I just think I followed my heart,” said LAMBERT.

Love "Baggage Claim". The rhythm part reminds me of Soundgarden's "Spoonman".
Not too keen on the other track, but we'll see how the studio version sounds.

Miranda Lambert’s ‘Four the Record’ Makes History, Tops Country Chart
Miranda Lambert‘s fourth studio album, ‘Four the Record,’ is also her fourth album to debut at No. 1 on the country album chart. The ‘Baggage Claim’ singer sold over 133K copies of the album, more than double her previous first week best. Lambert becomes the first country artist in the 47-year history of the album charts to have her first four albums debut at No. 1.
“OK, that’s crazy! When you start out you want to blaze your own trail and set your goals, and I always worry about living up to the standard I set for myself,” Lambert said in a press release. “But I hope it says to every artist who is starting out that if you really go with your heart and stick to your guns and feel okay with exercising your creative license, it will all end up great because you are doing what you believe in.”
On the all genre charts, ‘Four the Record’ places third behind Justin Bieber‘s ‘Under the Mistletoe’ (210K) and rapper Wale‘s ‘Ambition’ (163K). Susan Boyle’s ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’ is fourth with over 132K sold last week. Adele continues to pace the year’s top albums with over 107K copies of ’21′ sold.
Last week’s No. 1 country album, Toby Keith‘s ‘Clancy’s Tavern,’ drops to third on the album chart, behind Scotty McCreery‘s debut, ‘Clear as Day’ (40K). After just two weeks, Keith’s ‘Red Solo Cup’ is already the top selling country single, however, selling over 53K digital copies last week.
Lambert’s 2009 album ‘Revolution’ sold 66K copies in its first week. ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ sold 53K in 2007, and ‘Kerosene’ sold 40K in 2005.
