A former member of the band Queens of the Stone Age faced a possible felony domestic violence charge today after barricading himself in his residence and holding his girlfriend hostage, authorities said.
Nick Oliveri, 39, was booked shortly after 3 this morning at the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station on suspicion of
felony domestic violence, said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman of the Media Relations office. He was released about three hours later on $100,000 bail, the sheriff's department reported. No court date was set.
The barricade in the 900 block of North Hobart Boulevard, began about 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, the LAPD reported.
According to police, the woman allegedly had injured her arm during a domestic dispute with Oliveri on Monday, and officers went to the residence that day, but he wasn't there. The woman told police he was armed with a gun, according to the LAPD.
TMZ.com reported that police went to Oliveri's home on Tuesday after a neighbor called 911 to report a "disturbance" between the rocker and his girlfriend.
According to TMZ, the woman told police that Oliveri struck her during an argument on Monday, and she had come back to the home to collect her belongings so she could move out.
Police summoned a SWAT team to the location, and a standoff ensued. The woman came out of the residence at 8:25 p.m., and Oliveri surrendered about two hours later, police said.
Authorities searched the home and found a weapon, Eisenman said.

Does this guy even matter anymore? Didn't Josh kick him out of QOTSA because he beat a woman? Must be a slow news day for this to be on every music website.

Ironically when I saw this on the main page, everything after "Queen" was cut off and I thought something bad had happened to John Deacon.
