Former Motorhead guitarist Killed By Death (unfortunately true)
Former Motorhead guitar player Michael "Wurzel" Burston has died. He died yesterday at the age of 61.
Interestingly (OK??), he co wrote the song, "Killed By Death," back in 1984. I'm pretty sure he'd see the humor in posting this thread title and video...

Wurzel joined the band in 1984 (along with Phil Campbell, who is still in the band). They replaced former Thin Lizzy guitar player Brian Robertson who filled the spot left by original Motorguitarist Fast Eddie Clarke.
Wurzel appeared on the following Motorhead albums...
No Remorse (1984)
Orgasmatron (1986)
Rock 'n' Roll (1987)
Nö Sleep at All (1988)
The Birthday Party (1990)
1916 (1991)
March ör Die (1992)
Bastards (1993)
Sacrifice (1995)
Most of those are pretty damned good (although his last, Sacrifice, was probably the weakest of the bunch - but the rest were good to very good, Bastards being a particular favorite of mine).
R.I.P. Wurzel.
(Anyone else think that Lemmy will dedicate, "Killed By Death," to Wurzel the next time he plays it live?)

Well, the song was written by him along with Lemmy. Wurzel didn't co-write all of the Motorhead songs during his tenure, so it is a bit ironic that one of the songs that he just happened to co-write was called Killed By Death.
It would not be the least bit ironic if we were talking about Lemmy since he either wrote or co-wrote almost every single Motorhead song over the last 35 years.
It's hard to believe that Wurzel left Motorhead over 15 years ago. It still seems like he's one of the new guys in the band.
I'm just curious as to what killed him. Well, beyond being Killed By Death...

That's about as ironic as someone saying, "someday, I might die", and then someday, they die.

He's dead, folks, let's get past whether or not you find it ironic that one of the songs he co-wrote happened to be ironic or not.
(Here was my point - Fellow Motorheader Phil Campbell, who was also in the band at that time, didn't co-write the song. The irony is that one of the songs Wurzel just happened to co-write some music for would be called Killed By Death - a title written by Lemmy, not Wurzel. That title and those lyrics could have just as easily been used for a song with music co-written by Campbell instead music co-written by Wurzel. The music was written before the lyrics. I think it's ironic that the FIRST Motorhead guy to die - A. Wasn't Lemmy, and B.) just happened to be the guy who co-wrote the song.)

This is just a coincidence.
Anyway, RIP Wurzel

It'll be ironic when Bruce Willis dies because he was the movie "Die Hard."

OK, let's just say unfortunate. Good grief. A guy dies and some people become the grammar police. Whatever.
Anyone care to actually comment on Wurzel??

It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife.
It always sucks when someone dies, especially someone "famous" that many can connect with.
It reminds us that we are mortal, and how another year's gone by and how little we've grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles we know it's not to be. That for the rest of our sad, wretched, pathetic lives, this is who we are to the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably.

I've never seen such a complete lack of irony. If irony were water, this would be a desert like Death Valley.
This is like an irony-free zone.
