The Go-Go's "Ladies Gone Wild" tour
If you've never seen them, it's worth every penny. I've seen them on every tour these past 10-15 years and they still put on a great show. Too bad they don't write new material. Since their 2001 album was met with zero interest, they all but threw in the towel except for touring.

I remember that 2001 album - the single was "Unforgiven".
I've seen em twice - once in 2000 w/ Psych Furs and B-52's. Other time was when they were headlining in 03 or 04. Fun shows - I liked their onstage banter and chemistry. I don't think I need to see them again though, unless Live Nation has a sale.

Too bad they're in LA on a weekday. I'm working nights and can't go. I was going to see them last year before they cancelled the tour. Damn, and I've been listening to them the past couple of days too.

I saw their tour for the "God Bless the Go-go's" tour twice (that was the new album in 2001)... ten years later I find myself still pulling that cd out to listen to... it holds up extremely well... hard to believe it got no airplay or attention at all...
would love to see the upcoming tour (with the b-52's too!), but the closest it's coming to me is 350 miles.

Agree. I still play that album often 10 years later. It got zero publicity which is why it came and went unnoticed. Which is too bad, it's a fantastic album. Every track sounds like it could be a single.

Re: The Go-Go's "Ladies Gone Wild" tour
Last summer the Go-Go’s had scheduled a farewell tour which was subsequently canceled when guitarist Jane Wiedlin required surgery after suffering injury to her knees in a hiking fall. During the band’s time off, they decided they were not quite ready to hang up their instruments and set to work preparing for this summer’s 30th Anniversary spectacular, Ladies Gone Wild.

Back around 1997, I saw them with the B-52's. That was a great double bill. Then a few years later I believe they played with the Psychedelic Furs. But as someone above mentioned, the Go-Go's have great chemistry on the stage. Their banter between the songs is fucking hilarious.

Saw them around 2000 with Berlin and some punk rock band I'd never heard of. I have never gone to any of the 80's tours, you know 2-4 80's bands put together to make really good money off of nostalgia.
So, I didn't go to this to see the Go-Go's of 1984.
Terri Nunn totally surprised me with her performance and strong vocals with Berlin and that ended up being a bonus to the nearly flawless performance that was to follow.
The Go-Go's were simply awesome. Great show and I'll probably try and catch them again, although now Belinda is starting to show her age, which only makes me feel realize I'm starting to show my age.
They should do one more album together. Why not? Even though that last album didn't sell, I think Rolling Stone had it as one of the best albums of the year. I think RS might have still had some credibility 11 years ago.

I've seen the Go-Go's in concert. It was a great show. They did a killer version of Vacation. I was wishing they would release a live CD of that tour just to get that version of the song..

All that said, I'm quite familiar with the band's history and members. Being a big New Wave fan, it's impossible to not be aware of them, and their contributions. Hell, I even know that Jane Wiedlin and Terry Hall (The Specials; Fun Boy Three) co-wrote "Our Lips Are Sealed" about their relationship. (Each has recorded the tune with their respective bands. I'm a big Terry Hall fan.) And I have Jane Wiedlin's Sparks collaboration, "Cool Places", in several forms.
Now the B-52's...there's a band that I'd have to "endure" a concert of...and I know just as much, if not more, about them as well.

OK, I have to agree with you enduring the B-52's. Not because they don't have enough material for you to recognize (they do). But as someone who has seen them live many times in the last 25 plus years, I can honestly say they have run out of steam. Not in the studio, "Funplex" was a great album. But on stage? They have definitely lost their mojo. As much as I hate to say it.....

I actually went to go see this same tour. Which only played on the West Coast. I flew out from D.C. to see this show at the San Diego University and got food poisoning so I never got to see any of the acts. And heard Berlin were amazing.

Pick up "Beauty and the Beat". "Automatic" is really dated, but otherwise, it's about as perfect a guitar-pop album as I've ever heard. I'd probably put it in my top five favorite albums of all time, honestly.

I'm with everyone else...."God Bless the Go-Go's" is a solid album with plenty of cool tunes.

Just remembered, the Lunachicks were on the bill with Berlin and the Go-Go's back around 1998. All three bands toured just the West Coast. And I had tickets to see them at the San Diego State University.

bigjim25...thanks for the info on the remastered version of Beauty and the Beat. I like the tunes London Boys and Beatnik Beach.
$23.00 is a bit pricey. I'll wait until it comes out and purchase a cheaper one from an Amazon Seller.
