This isnt a club banger CD. Listen to New Day - great track.

I'm about halfway through and enjoying it a lot (more than I thought I would).

New Day is a great track, and I'm guessing The RZA produced that one.

Seems odd that all the reviews and hype are going to start fading before this is even available in stores. Not sure about that strategy.

People buy music in stores?

I like the album. Probably Jay-Z's best in a long time. Kanye outdoes him, mostly.

I think they'll take that over having the first highly anticipated hiphop album come out in forever that didn't leak 2 to 3 weeks before you could buy it at all.

I know brick and mortar sales are still important, but if I was selling music, I would do it this way.

Maybe not, but it would have been nice for those of us that like to have the physical product. Get off of my lawn bus!

I do. If it's an album I really like I will buy the physical. I like to have the physical copy because of the booklet, designs, etc. It's just something about being able to look at what you are listening to that makes it more enjoyable.

^I saw them a month ago in Toronto and it was incredible. Just curious, how many times did they do Ni**as in Paris? When I saw them, they did it THREE TIMES in a row. It was insane.

Reportedly, they've done the track up to ten times at some shows. Not sure how that worked out.

Re: Kanye West & Jay-Z: Watch The Throne - Mar 1st, 2011

Rap tours usually are awful or they get cancelled.

The only big time I've seen that was good was the Up In Smoke Tour with Dr. Dre, Snoop, Eminem, Ice Cube, Dogg Pound etc.

That was awesome.

Did Kanye and Jay-Z each do their own songs in this show as well? Or was it just the collabo stuff from Watch the Throne?

Also, about how long did they perform?

Thanks for any help. Would love to see this show at some point before it goes away.

Why are they performing the same song so many times at each concert?

It just went away - the Throne tour just wrapped. That being said, the setlist was great, they both did some of their own stuff as well as songs from Watch The Throne. The whole show, which had no opening act, just Jay and Kanye, was about 2.5 hours long. Absolutely incredible concert experience. Here's the setlist that I saw:

Spoiler:

H.A.M
Who Gon' Stop Me
Otis
Welcome to the Jungle
Gotta Have It
Where I'm From
Ni**a What? Ni**a Who?
Can't Tell Me Nothing
Flashing Lights
Jesus Walks
Diamonds are Forever
Public Service Announcement
U Don't Know
Run This Town
Monster
Power
Made in America
New Day
Hard Knock Life
Izzo (H.O.V.A.)
Empire State of Mind
Runaway
Heartless
Stronger
On to the Next One
Dirt Off Your Shoulder
I Just Wanna Love You
That's My Bitch
Good Life
Touch the Sky
All of the Lights
Big Pimpin'
Gold Digger
99 Problems
No Church in the Wild
Lift Off
Ni**as in Paris
Ni**as in Paris
Ni**as in Paris
Encore

It makes no sense on paper, why they would do in Paris 3 times in a row - but when you're there, the crowd goes crazy... by the final time, anyone who didn't know the words before hand, could easily sing along. It was weird but awesome, when they dropped the beat to do it a third time, the place was electric.

Hopefully they recorded one of their shows along the way and it will see a Blu Ray release in the near future.

I usually have "Paris" on repeat, so it makes sense to do it in a live show.

When I first saw Badly Drawn Boy live, he did "Fall in a River" three times at the same show, just not in a row. (And each time it was different... acoustic, electric, etc.)
