What's fascinating is that while the movie industry has largely capitulated (especially regarding sexuality), television has begun to assert itself as willing to push those boundaries. Throw in the Interwebs and it's completely ridiculous that our cinematic storytellers are expected to craft tales without acknowledging the reality of our world.

It's easier for Family Guy to turn something into a joke than it is for the actual something to be shown/said in a movie. Other than the self-sustaining bubble of ignorance around some grandstanding loudmouths, what's actually been protected by this prudish governance of filmmaking? I definitely agree that vulgarity for the sake of vulgarity isn't interesting, but we live in a really jacked up society where grown damn adults honestly think it's healthier for youth to see unrealistic gunfights that marginalize the value of human life and disregard the actual likely consequences (i.e., you don't leap through fireballs shooting two pistols; you die) than it is to see pubic hair.

And now I've gone and gotten all worked up and I've got Michelle Pfeiffer in her Catwoman costume on my mind and I'm wondering about her pubic hair at the time and I don't know where the hell I'm going with any of this.
