Wow... so much hatred for SLAYER here! I kind of thought they'd be #1 on anyone's list!

Just because Kerry King looks like ZZ Top gone gay, there's absolutely no reason to put Britney Fox ahead of them! You're supposed to be judging on musical content, not looks.

Out of the four though, they're easily the most consistent. You got to give them that.

Congrats on never progressing!

This is coming from a formerly-rabid Slayer fan. Don't get me wrong, I still love their music but they haven't done anything that's thrilled me since Divine Intervention. King and Hanneman STILL can't solo for shit, even after those guitar lessons they took for Seasons (one of the reasons that album features more competent playing). I love them for what they do, but I don't really care if they keep making new music or not. Their last 3 or 4 albums have a few songs I dig, but the rest is mostly filler.

If we're going to talk about remaining relevant, it's Megadeth all the way. Anyone hear their latest track for Guitar Hero, "Sudden Death"? It shreds like something straight off Rust in Peace.

I haven't gotten into any of their newer albums since 91. Metallica's Justice tour was the first concert i ever went to so Metallica holds a special place in my heart(the show also made me a huge fan of The Cult)I would probably put Justice for All as my favorite album that any of them did, but other than that i would rank them

I was obsessed with Rust in Peace, Persistance of Time, and Seasons in the Abyss my freshmen year(which increased after I saw the 3 bands at the Clash of the Titans tour) year until I discovered Suicidal Tendencies, and I never lost interests in the four but after i discovered Death's "Leporsy" and "Human" and Morbid Angel's "Altars of Madness", nothing else packed the punch that it did originally.

Hey, they've never done a gay ballad like Metallica! Or Megadeth. Or Anthrax. (or 99% of other bands).

Some bands should NEVER "progress": AC/DC, Motorhead, and SLAYER. If you got a good thing going, why change it? Why mess with perfection?
